CCM Size Guides For Ice Hockey Players

Looking to find the right sizes for your CCM ice hockey gear? You’re in the right place.

Check out all the sizing charts and fitting advice you need to get an ideal fit with your CCM gear.

CCM Ice Hockey Skates

Whether you’re a sniper or a D-man, CCM has you covered with a wide range of top-quality skates to fit every playstyle, experience level and budget.

Measuring For CCM Ice Hockey Skates

When measuring for ice hockey skates, there is no perfect way of doing it — each foot is different, so each skate fit is different, too. As a rule of thumb, your skate size is usually one below your standard shoe size, but this does vary.

While you can get a good idea by looking at the charts, getting your feet in some different styles of CCM hockey skates is the best way to find the right fit.

When you lace up your skate, your foot should lie flat on the boot's footbed, with your toes lightly touching the front of the skate. You should feel a snug, responsive fit in your boot that helps you to connect with the ice and make those technical plays.

To get rid of the guesswork and find the perfect fit for you, come and say hello to us in-store at Willies in Coventry.

CCM Ice Hockey Sticks

With their high-quality materials and construction, you can be confident that your CCM ice hockey stick will be right there with you to dominate on the ice and make those power plays like a pro.

Measuring For CCM Ice Hockey Sticks

Finding the right size for your hockey stick is crucial to ensure you can give your best performance on the ice, and the shaft length is the primary factor in choosing size.

Coming in youth, junior, intermediate, and senior sizes, CCM ice hockey sticks have a wide range of different sizes and flex profiles to suit all players.

However, your individual playstyle and preference will ultimately determine your best fit, so don’t assume that one size fits all: it’s all about you.

A good rule of thumb is to choose a CCM stick that reaches the top of your nose when the blade toe is on the ground. If you can’t find a perfect stick, customisation is a great option, and you can chop down your stick or add an extension to suit.

Remember that altering your stick's length will impact its flex; cutting down will reduce flex, and adding will increase it.

Fancy hearing more from our experts? Take a look at our guide to choosing the right hockey stick.

CCM Stick Size Chart

This handy sizing chart will help you choose the best length and flex for your height and weight, but as always, we recommend an in-person visit to our shop in Coventry to get a feel for the CCM sticks we have on offer.

CCM Shoulder Pads

Whatever position you play, you will need shoulder pads to keep you safe while you’re making those checks. CCM has you covered with a range of shoulder pads to suit each playstyle.

Measuring For CCM Ice Hockey Shoulder Pads

To find out your CCM shoulder pad size, use a measuring tape to measure the circumference of your chest (taken at the widest part of your chest, just under your arms).

Take your chest measurement and height to compare against the size chart below to find your perfect CCM shoulder pad size. Players between sizes can choose to size up for a larger, more protective fit or size down to go for a low-profile, anatomical fit.

Once you’ve found your size, make sure you double-check by trying your new shoulder pads on! The tips of your shoulders should sit squarely in the shoulder caps without restricting any movement or getting in the way of your elbow pads. Try out a few shots to see how your shoulder pads move with you, so you can stay protected while you’re playing.

Pop into our store in Coventry to try on different sizes and models to find the perfect CCM shoulder pads for you.

CCM Elbow Pads

The elbow can be a dangerous weapon or a weak spot on the ice, so protecting it properly is crucial. CCM elbow pads offer excellent protection that will keep you safe without compromising performance.

Measuring For CCM Ice Hockey Elbow Pads

To figure out your elbow pad size, just stick your arm out straight in front of you and measure from the middle of your bicep to the centre of your forearm, around where your glove meets your wrist.

Using that measurement and your height, you can find the right-sized elbow pad for you! Between sizes? Don’t worry – you can choose which way to go. If you want the best coverage, then sizing up is the best option. Want to have a more anatomical, agile fit? No problem – size down.

When it comes to your elbow pads, it’s also important to consider your playstyle and personal preferences, which are always best done in person. Come into our Coventry store to try on a few different sizes of CCM elbow pads with the help of our experts, so you know you’re getting the very best fit.

If you’re trying on your elbow pads, the elbow cups should accommodate your elbows comfortably; they shouldn’t be too tight and should allow a free range of motion while still feeling snug and secure. You don’t want gaps between your elbow and the pads, so size up if you feel like you need more protection on the ice.

CCM Ice Hockey Gloves

Your hands are your most essential tools out on the ice, so it’s crucial that you have gloves that fit you like, well… a glove!

CCM offers a variety of ice hockey gloves to cater to every player’s needs, whether they are nimble forwards or powerful defensemen.

Measuring For CCM Gloves

There is no exact science when looking for the right CCM gloves, but you can get a good idea using the chart below. Simply use your height and weight to find your corresponding size.

Size charts are a guide to try and get the very best fit, but it’s always best to pop into our store in Coventry and try the CCM gear out.

Ice hockey gloves are an essential part of your kit, which is why they come in three different fit profiles; one size doesn’t fit all, but CCM has got you covered. The fit profiles on offer are 4-roll, anatomical and tapered.

  • A traditional 4-roll glove will deliver a roomy fit with low resistance. If this is your style, the CCM Tacks 4R Pro 2 is a brilliant option.
  • If you’re a player who likes to feel snug in your gloves, anatomical is the way to go - the CCM Tacks AS-V Pro or the CCM Jetspeed gloves are good for hands with a smaller movement range.
  • Gloves that have an anatomical fit around the hand and fingers and more room around the cuff fall into the tapered category — the CMM Jetspeed FT485 model has you covered.

When you measure for your hockey gloves, it’s essential to ensure that the glove's cuff covers your forearm up to your elbow pad. Your fingers also shouldn’t extend past the surface on top of your glove – that's what'll keep your digits from getting banged up on the ice.

CCM doesn’t provide a brand-specific size chart for their gloves, so here’s a generic ice hockey glove size chart to help you get an approximate size.

CCM Ice Hockey Helmets

There should be no compromise when it comes to protecting your lid, and the CCM range of helmets will ensure that your head is always protected, regardless of age, skill or playstyle.

Measuring For CCM Ice Hockey Helmets

When protecting your lid with a CCM helmet, the only thing you need to measure is the circumference of your head – this couldn’t be easier! Find the widest point of your head (this is usually 1-2 fingers above your eyebrows) and wrap a tape measure around once.

As with anything, different brands and models will fit people differently, so visiting us in-store in Coventry is the best way to find the best fit. Our team can then work with you to find the perfect helmet that will keep you safe on the ice.

When trying on your new helmet, open the adjustable setting to the largest size and position and place the helmet on your head. Once it’s on, move the adjuster until the helmet fits your head and is comfortable.

CCM Goalie Skates

Goalies, if you don’t have the right skates, you might as well stay in the locker room. CCM make a killer range of goalie skates that'll fit your foot like a glove, helping you zoom around that crease and make those clutch saves like a boss.

Measuring For Ice Hockey Goalie Skates From CCM

It’s a good idea to follow the rule of thumb to go one size down from your normal shoes, so you can get that snug fit without your toes touching the toe cap.

Remember, "snug" doesn't mean "too small" — you still need to be able to move and flex in your boots. We recommend popping down to Willies in Coventry so you can try some CCM goalie skates on and see what fits best for your unique feet.
