  • SHOULD I WEAR A VISOR / CAGE TO PLAY INLINE HOCKEY?

    All players under 18 are required to wear complete face protection in the form of either a full face shield or a cage while they’re playing inline hockey. While checking isn’t allowed, roller hockey is still a contact sport, so we highly recommend you pick up a cage for your inline hockey games!

     

    Visors provide excellent eye and nose protection but leave the jaw, cheekbones and teeth exposed to rogue sticks and pucks. 

     

    Cages are the most durable and protective full-face shields you can get, with the metal bars spaced out to clearly see the action while protecting your entire face from sticks or pucks. However, they can be pretty heavy, and some players find that the bars impede their vision.

     

    Full visors deliver the best of both worlds, with a clear visor around the eyes for maximum visibility and a lightweight, breathable cage near the mouth.
